5 Games to keep you busy during Lockdown 2

Words by Jason Sewald

With Lockdown 2 underway, we have once again been banished to the confines of our homes and what better way to keep us in our homes other than games. Which is exactly the reason that has brought me here; to give you a list of games to help keep the boredom away, whilst also saving lives by social distancing. So without further ado, let’s get into it.

Nioh 2

Starting off this list is a strong contender of mine for Game of the Year. Nioh 2 is a game that has seen a lot of me this year, and with its addictive gameplay and difficulty, it hits the exact nerves you need to escape reality. Nioh is a Character Action Game, often referred to as ‘Dark Souls mixed in a blender with Ninja Gaiden’ and that is the most accurate description I have heard. So if this is up your alley, don’t sleep on this.

FIFA 21

As we are in a lockdown, owning a sports game is a must and none of it applies more to FIFA (and another game next up). This game is perfect if you live with friends and you all just need something to take the time away from reality. If you’re spending lockdown alone; Ultimate Team will keep you going. With its sharp focus on passing and dribbling, FIFA 21 has become one of the most dynamic titles to date. So if you’re a football fan, get it downloaded on your console of choice ASAP.

NBA 2K21

Just like FIFA, owning this title is an absolute must and especially with the PS5/XBOX Series X versions looming over us, this is all the more reasons to cop this title. 2K has been the ultimate Basketball simulator for quite some time now and its keen attention to detail it deserves that title. 2K21 has always been fun with the MyPlayer and GM modes but none comes close to the MyTEAM mode. Having the chance to create your dream team of ballers from the ages really pushes out your wildest fantasy to the forefront, you wanna play LeBron and Jordan on the same team? Bring your dream line up to life with histories best basketball players and it will only get better with the next generation of console gaming.

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 is arguably 2019s GOTY. Gearbox and 2K struck gold with this franchise and the latest iteration only goes to prove that point. Another game that is perfectly meant for co-op with friends, Borderlands allows you to shoot and loot your way throughout the wastelands with bright visuals and a great cast. It will send all the endorphins to your brain to keep that lockdown depression away.

Call Of Duty: Cold War

I’m cheating with the last entry because the game isn’t out yet but believe me when I say this; once the latest instalment of COD drops, people are going to be on this like moths to a flame. Call of Duty hit the ground running with last years Warzone and you can only imagine that the new one will be bigger and better than before, especially when you take in the new consoles in mind.

This is my top 5 list of games you have to get into during lockdown because in these uncertain times we don’t know how long this will go on for, so why not put your trust in things that will spark joy and keep the mood up while you game away.
